We use yoga to get in greater touch with ourselves, but it’s important to remember that the practice is meant to bring us closer to others, too. In April, the Live Be Yoga Tour visited Octopus Garden Holistic Yoga Centre in Toronto to take Lisa Messina’s vinyasa class featuring tabla player Anita Katakkar. The theme of Lisa’s class was community, or the unified feeling of practicing together. “Often our practice takes us inside … but I like to think there’s something greater than that that’s like the next step … which is connecting to your true essence so that we can see the true being in each and every other being,” she says. Watch Lisa’s class and learn how to join forces and connect with the people practicing beside you.
