Practice on International Day of Yoga in the Florida Keys with a unique early-morning class, as the full moon sets on one side of the Seven-Mile Bridge and the summer sun rises on the other side.

Floridians, head down to the Keys’ Seven-Mile Bridge to celebrate International Day of Yoga with a unique early-morning class. The class provides a unique opportunity to practice yoga as the full moon sets on one side of the bridge and the sun rises on the other side simultaneously. The 90-minute class will take inspiration from the elements to combine ether, water, fire, earth and air.

“Because there’s a full moon at the same time the sun is rising, we have all the elements together at dawn on International Yoga Day,” said Natalie Smith, a Kripalu Yoga Teacher and founder of the event. Smith, founder of Natural Paths Fitness & Wellness, teamed up with other area yoga teachers to plan the event. The class will be led by Dharmi-Yoga Teacher Christelle Chopard, E-RYT 500.

Based on the interest the video above garnered on Facebook, the turnout is expected to be large. The event will be filmed and broadcast by TV88 in Florida and by drone for breathtaking footage. You can find more information about the event as well as the livestream on TV88.

Smith looks forward to the energy of the class and its ability to bring people together. “There’s so much stress in the world,” she says. “To be able to go to a beautiful place, all stand together with the same intention…the energy is going to be amazing.” Don’t miss this unique opportunity to celebrate Summer and International Day of Yoga.
